「偏見・差別」の結末（５月２２日授業報告）

今日の授業
１．偏見、差別
人間が他人に偏見をもち、差別するようになるプロセスを学びました。偏見など他人事だと思っていました。しかし、気を付けていないと私たち自身も、よく意識しないまま偏見を持ち、差別してしまう可能性があるということを学びました。さらに、差別の恐ろしい結末の例を見て怖くなりました。

２．英語ディベート
 「沈黙は金なり」について、肯定派と否定派に別れて英語でディベートを行いました。激しい議論となりましたが、それはゼミ生の英語力上がっている証です。

英語を使って、ディベート式で、行われた授業

   It was Kohei's (one of the seminar members) birthday today. Happy birthday to Kohei!
   Let us summarize the today’s class.

1. Prejudice and discrimination
   We learned about the process of having stereotyped images or prejudices toward other people. Before the class, we had rarely thought about having prejudices and discriminations against others. We had thought it was somebody else’s problem. However, today’s class has made us realize this can happen to any of us. We watched a video clip which described the critical case of discriminations during the Second World War. It was so cruel that some of the seminar members even looked away from the screen. Through the video clip, we learned how horrible discriminations could be.

2, Debate in English
   Do you think that “Silence is golden?"  It was the question of the debate. We debated on the topic enthusiastically. Through the activity, we were able to feel that our English skills have been improving.
