東京経済大学オープンキャンパスにて大学を代表してゼミ紹介！

　8月1日、東京経済大学オープンキャンパスにて大学を代表してゼミ紹介をしました！

この発表は9月にネパール海外ゼミ研修中に開催する「ネパール・日本国際学生サミット」のリハーサルも兼ねていたため、全て英語で発表させていただきました。

はじめに日本の踊りの発表です。冒頭でゼミ生全員でソーラン節を踊り、その後ソーラン節の意味と、踊りの背景にある日本文化を説明しました。授業外にゼミ生が自主的に集まって踊りを教え合い練習を重ねてきましたが、まだまだ不十分でした。ネパールに行くまでにさらに練習を重ねます！

　次に日本の貧困問題を劇仕立てで発表しました。なぜ劇にしたかというと、サミットには小・中学生も参加するからです。普通の発表の連続では飽きてしまうと考えました。日本は先進国で、豊かだと思われることも多いですが目に見えにくい貧困『相対的貧困』が大きな問題です。ネパールの人たちに日本は決して豊かなだけではない現状をこの劇を通して伝えたいです。

　ところで、私たちのゼミはネパールの貧しい子どもたちの助けになるためのクラウドファンディングに挑戦していました。そしてつい先日、大変多くの皆様の協力のおかげで最終目標金額80万円を達成することができました！集まりましたお金は私たちが責任を持ってネパールへ届け、継続的に子どもたちの成長を見守っていきます。

オープンキャンパスの時点では挑戦の途中で結果はわかっていませんでしたので、取り合えずクラウドファンディングの目的と仕組み、さらに公開するまでに取り組んだ準備や調査活動の内容を発表しました。

最後に日本とネパールの留学に関する意識調査の発表をさせていただきました。この調査の詳細は後ほど改めて紹介しますが、調査を通じて日本と教育事情、経済事情など様々な観点で日本とネパールの違いが見えてくるのではないかと考えています。現在はオンラインのアンケート調査への回答を元に分析をしている最中です。関先生が代表理事をされているAAEE,アジア教育交流研究機構の学生の皆様にもご協力いただいています。結果はサミットなどで発表します。

数あるプログラムの中から関ゼミを選び見に来てくださった皆さまありがとうございました！ネパール研修もまもなく始まります！残り少ない時間でしっかりと準備を進め、帰国後は、皆様に成長した私たちの姿と成果をご報告させていただけるよう頑張ります。

We introduced our seminar activities on behalf of our university at the Open campus of Tokyo Keizai university where high school students visited a university on the 1^st of August.

This presentation was a rehearsal of “INTERNATIONAL　STUDENT　SUMMIT 2019”, which will be held during our overseas training program in Nepal this September. Therefore, we made our presentations in English.

First of all, we presented a Japanese dance. All of our seminar members danced Soran Bushi. After that, we explained what Soran Bushi is and Japanese tradition related to the dance. We think our practice was not enough. We will practice more before going to Nepal.

Next was a drama about a poverty problem in Japan. Primary school students and high school students will participate in the summit. To prevent them from getting bored, we decided to use the drama. Though Japan is one of the developed countries, there is still a big poverty problem called “Relative poverty”. Through this drama, we would like to tell Nepalese people our country is not only wealthy also has the problem.

As you may already know, we tried crowdfunding to help needy children in Nepal. Thanks to many people’s support, we finally achieved JPY 800,000, which was our final goal. We promised to fulfill our responsibility of delivering the donation to Nepal.

Finally, we made a presentation of a survey on people’s awareness about study abroad in Nepal and Japan. We guess we could find differences in their ideas, attitudes, and experiences between the two countries depending on their education and financial situations. We are conducting a questionnaire survey online now, supported by AAEE, Asia Association of Education and Exchange. The results will be announced at the summit and other occasions.

We’d like to thank all the students and teachers who visited our seminar’s presentations. Our training program will start soon. We will continue to prepare for the summit and do our best to show you our progress and results of this project after we come back to Japan.
