ネパール研修報告（11）ネパール最終日

研修12日目。

最終日となるこの日は「モンキー・テンプル」という異名を持つネパールの世界遺産、スワヤンブナートへ観光に行きました。

400段近い階段を登り、頂上の仏塔に到着。それはネパール仏教にとって最も重要と言われる仏塔だそうです。そこで、ネパールの首都カトマンズの景色を一望できます。階段を登る途中で、あらゆるところに猿がいました。さすが「モンキー・テンプル」と呼ばれるわけです。

観光後は、メンバー全員でフットサルをやりました。先生やコーディネーターも含めて２つのチームを別れ、試合を行いました。試合は本気勝負で大いに盛り上がり、結果は11:11と引き分けでしたが良い息抜きになりました。

夜はお別れ会を開きました。そこでは私たちが事前に準備した色紙と日本からのお土産をネパールメンバーやコーディネーターにプレゼントしました。最後には一人ずつ、このプログラムに対しての想いや経験したこと、そして感謝の気持ちを伝えました。話を聞いているうちに2週間で経験した事や思い出がフラッシュバックしてメンバーが涙を流すなど、近づいてくる別れに対して寂しさを感じ始めました。

このプログラムに参加できてほんとによかったと思います。

On the last day, we visited Monkey Temple which is one of the World heritage sites in Nepal.

After climbing nearly 400 steps, we reached the top, the Pagoda. Pagoda an important symbol to Buddhist. From the top, we had a broad view on Kathmandu. While we were climbing the steps we saw monkeys everywhere, which is why this temple is called “Monkey Temple”.

We had a football session after visiting the temple, which included the teacher and the coordinators. We were divided into two teams. The game was played seriously until the result was drawn.

At night, we had a farewell party. We gave the message cards and souvenirs we prepared to all the Nepali members and coordinators. We shared our feelings, what we experienced and expressed gratitude. It was heart-wrenching and touching listening to all those confessions while recalling our journey there. Some of us even cried. 

We really thought it was a great opportunity to join this program.

ネパール研修報告（10）ポカラからカトマンズへ

9月15日

私たちはポカラからカトマンズへバスで向かいました。

数日前の18時間の長距離移動の教訓から、十分な水や食料、酔い止めなどを買い込み準備万全の状態で出発しました。

帰りの車内でも、笑い声や話が飛び交っていました。

案の定、再び驚異的大渋滞に巻き込まれ、7時間のはずの移動は12時間に・・・。

しかし、ネパール人とは既にとても仲良しになっており他愛もない会話や互いに冗談を言い合いながら、辛いはずの時間をとても楽しく過ごすことができました。 バスの中は笑顔で溢れ、お互いにコミュニケーションを深める大切な時間でした。一生忘れることのない大事な思い出です。

We were taking the bus back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Having the experience from the first long distance travel in Nepal, before starting our journey, we bought tons of drinks and tidbits with us hoping to make our trip smoother that way. Besides munching and resting onboard, since it we had made friends with those Nepalese students in this journey back, we had fun talking, playing and just fooling each other around. The bus was filled with whispers and laughers. At the end, this trip was supposed to take 7hours but it took us nearly 12 hours, however, we enjoyed it and we will never forget it.

ネパール研修報告（9）村の学校にてパソコンを贈呈！

9月14日。

この日は、ポカラからバスで片道約1時間以上かけて、低カーストに属する人々が多い村を訪問しました。

PCを贈呈し、使い方を教えて交流しました

そもそもカースト制とは、インド発祥の社会的身分制度のことです。これはヒンディー教特有のものです。この身分制度にどこも属せない程身分が低い「アウトカースト」という身分に属する人々の住む村を訪れるのは、もちろん初めてのことでした。

私たちは、カーストのことについて事前に学んで行ったこともあり、村が近づくにつれて、

子供達が我々を怖がるのではないか？しっかりと交流できるかどうか？などと不安が募ってきました。

しかし、小学校に着いたとたん。そこは、歓迎ムードで溢れていてびっくり。我々に花飾りを首にかけてくださったり、歌やダンスをたくさん披露してくださったり、さらには、お食事まで準備してくれた程です。

我々も、歌や踊りを披露するだけでなく、皆で折り紙を折ったり、PCを贈呈して操作方法を教えたりして交流しました。

あるメンバーが1人の小学生に尋ねました。

「あなたは幸せですか？」

その子はこのように答えました。

「僕は幸せ。だって、大好きな家族や友達と一緒にいられるし、学校にも通って勉強もできているから。」

苦しい環境にいるから、幸せでないと考えていた我々にとって、驚きでした。

We visited a village which is quite remote, so it took us approximately an hour by bus from Pokhara. Over there, many villagers belong to lower castes and stricken by poverty.

A caste system is a kind of social ranking system originating from India. This is a feature of the Hindu religion. 

However, there are some people who don't belong to any caste due to their lower status and they are called “Out Caste”. This village was the first of its kind that we visited.

After learning about caste system, some members worried about whether we could interact with them or not.

But when we arrived to this school, they welcomed us warmly, putting flower necklaces around our necks, showing us dancing and singing, and provided a meal for us.

We shared with them as well, not only we showed dancing and singing but we also taught the children how to do Origami and the teachers how to use a PC.

After this activity, a member asked one student, "Are you happy now ?"

Then, the student answered "I'm really happy because I'm always surrounded by family and a lot of friends. Also, I can go to school and study with my friends !"

In fact, we were really surprised because we thought they belonged to a lower caste. However, our prejudice was corrected. We enjoyed the interaction with children but on the other hand, we felt shocked too.

後期授業報告(５) アイデンティティとは

10月19日のゼミでは、アイデンティティについて学びました。そこで、在日韓国人が議題としてあげられました。高校の授業などで韓国と日本に関する歴史を学びましたが、実際に在日韓国人に対するヘイトスピーチ見て、今でもその考え方が一部の日本人の間で残っていることに気付かされました。K-POPや韓国コスメなどと、今韓国はブームで若者に人気だと思います。ヘイトスピーチに対する法律も改善されたそうですが、少しずつでもそのような意見が少なくなって欲しいと思います。

サブゼミは、11月12日(日)にJICA地球広場で行われるイベントの準備をしました。ゼミ生間で意見を出し合いならイベントに向けて頑張っています！とても良いイベントになると思います。是非お越し下さい！



アイデンティティについてデスカッションしています。

“What is your Identity?”

We were asked that question by our Professor which led us to the the topic of today’s lesson: Identity of young Koreans in Japan. Korean culture such as K-Pop, Korean cosmetics are very popular among the Japanese young people. We have learned about the relationship between Japan and Korea through history classes but watching the video about an anti-Korean hate speech as well as listening to Koreans in Japan sharing their stories made us shocked. Something must be done in order to  stop this offensive and discriminatory language against ethnic minorities. Being a half is definitely not easy in Japan.

During the sub-seminar, we prepared for the event which will be held on November 12th at JICA. We are working hard to make this event successful! If you are interested in international culture exchange, please come and join us!

１０月２１日(土曜日)、国際協力学生団体KIVO様からお時間をいただき、我々の活動や、１１月１２日に我々が実施するイベントの内容について関昭典ゼミを代表してゼミ長(加藤裕貴、３年)とゼミ生(谷口惇、２年)の2人で発表をして来ました！

関昭典ゼミナールの魅力、強み、１１月のイベントの魅力を全力で紹介してきました。
同じような方向性を持った団体同士が同じ国に支援をしていても、焦点を置き方によって活動内容も随分と異なるという事を学びました。
我々の活動の魅力、そして様々な国の学生が共同で取り組む国際学生交流活動がなぜ大切なのか、力説し、会場の皆さんも真剣に耳を傾けてくださいました。とても素敵な交流の場でした。KIVOの皆さん、１１月１２日の我々のイベント（於JICA地球ひろば）にもぜひ顔を出してください。楽しみにしています！

Today, Yuki and Atsushi went to join the meeting held by KIVO,International cooperating students organization. We introduced our seminar to them and talked about our activities and upcoming event. What we learned from the meeting was there are so many ways to contribute to people or society in Asia depending on from which angles we think of them even if those who focus on similar activities help the same countries.
We tried our best to strongly urge our charms and why international exchange students activities are so important.

後期授業報告（4）文化意識の変容について学ぶ

異文化学習理論「カルチャーショック」

今回の授業では、ネパール研修を振り返りながら文化意識の変容について学びました。

ある異文化学習理論によれば、異文化体験のはじめの頃にはすべてが新鮮に見えてワクワクする、「ハネムーン期」があります。しかし、そこでの滞在を続けている内に様々な「カルチャーショック」を受けます。楽しいカルチャーショックばかりならいいのですが、実際には不快に感じるショックも数多くあります。さらにしばらく滞在を続けているうちに、心が落ち着いてきて、受けたショックを冷静に受け止めることができるようになります。さらに、気が付けばその文化の人たちと同じような行動や考え方をするようになることもあります。

例えば「時間」感覚について。待ちに待ったネパール学生との交流が始まりました。しかし、彼らと私たちの間には時間に対する意識が違い私たちは戸惑うことがありました。アクティビティが予定通り進まなかったときのいらいらした感じはカルチャーショックと言えるでしょう。しかし、研修中は彼らと寝食を共にする内に彼らの行動パターンが少しずつ理解できるようになり、さらには、ネパールで活動するときには、彼らと同じように行動している方が楽だと考える場面もでてきました。

異文化学習は奥が深いです・・・。

また授業後には、１１月１２日のイベントに向けてゼミ生一同熱心に準備に取り掛かりました。イベントの演出の一つとして、関ゼミ構成メンバーの出身国をボードでわかりやすく説明しました。私たちはネパールで何を経験し何を学んだか伝え感動してもらえるようなイベントになることを目標としています！11/12 （日）14:00〜 JICA地球ひろばにて行います！ぜひ、ご予定が空いてましたら足をお運びください！

4th time classes , While reflecting studying in Nepal, we learned transformations of the cultural awareness.

Firstly, there is a honeymoon period and it has a lot of excitement about the cross-cultural experience.

However, it gives us a cultural shock, when you realize that your own cultures and others are quite integrated.

For example, “the time’. The long awaited interchange with the Nepalese students began. They were a little relaxed about being on time. We were quite surprised as the planned activities did not start on schedule. However, we gradually adapted their routine and were able to spend a lot of time with them during training.  There was the final moment when we could not gather on time.

We had adapted their mannerisms and felt like we too were native Nepalese.

In order to make the upcoming events a success, all of us worked hard together. We had segregated the duties. Some of us were designing stunt signboards and some were focusing on the script writing. Our division of labor hopes to be able to organize an incredible event to tell you what we have experienced in Nepal. Come to join us at JICA GLOBAL SQUARE on 12th November.

ネパール研修報告（8）久しぶりの都会での滞在（ポカラ）

研修９日目（ポカラ）

Let's party tonight!!!
12時間かけて都会に戻ってきました！

早朝、村の人々に別れを告げてジープでポカラへ出発しました。車内の雰囲気は初めてジープに乗った5日前とは大違いでとても静か。厳しい環境での18時間のバス移動や村への絶叫ジープ移動、4日間の村でのホームステイ生活など様々な経験を経て成長した私たちには、3時間のジープ移動など朝飯前。体が浮き上がるほどのでこぼこ道を走っているにもかかわらず、ほぼ全員が寝ていました。まるでバス移動に慣れたネパール人のようでした。

ジープからバスに乗り継ぎ、午後6時ごろに私たちは観光地ポカラに到着。その後ホテルの近くのおしゃれなレストランでディナーパーティーです。それまでの4日間のホームステイからは想像できない豪華な環境と食事に全員の興奮は最高潮に達しました。

Early in the morning of the 9th day of studying, we traveled to Pokhara by jeep. The atmosphere in the jeep was really quiet and completely different from the first day (9/9) when we rode a jeep. 

　　It was a 5-hour ride, but because of the excitement of the first jeep ride, no one slept inside the car. However, after experiencing things like traveling by bus for 18 hours and staying in poor villages, we became stronger than we used to be and the bumpy road was already nothing for us.

At that time, we were like Nepalese who are used to travel on the bumpy road. After arriving in Pokhara, we invited a special guest who was a member of A.A.E.E. and went to a fancy restaurant all together. The excitement of all the members reached the climax because of the meal and the place. It was the feeling we couldn’t have had in the previous four days in the villages.

2017年度関ゼミナールゼミ長　加藤裕貴
ゼミ生に伝えたいことがあり病院から出て来ました

ゼミ長である加藤裕貴さんが、11月12日に私たちがJICA地球ひろばで開催するイベントの社会的意義についてプレゼンしてくれました。


11/12のイベントの社会的意義について力説

実はゼミ長は急な出来事で入院中です。しかし、11月のイベントについて様々な努力をして、このイベントの社会的意義やこれからの動くをゼミ生に伝えるために、病院から一時退院許可をもらって車椅子でゼミを参加しに来ました。

日本の若者にもっと東南アジア・南アジアへ目を向けて欲しい、そしてアジア地域での学生交流は双方の将来、さらにアジアの将来につながる活動である。外務省やJICAがこのイベントを応援してくれている理由はそこにある！と力説しました。さらに、10月26日に行われる学内のゼミ海外研修報告会についても皆が色々と面白いアイディアを出しました。

10月26日E204で昼休みに海外ゼミ研修成果報告を行います。私たちこの研修で何を体験し、何を学んだか、みなさんに報告しますのでぜひ来てください。

最後に、ゼミ長の行動を見て、私たちもさらにやる気を出ました、イベントの成功の為、全力で頑張ります。

This was the third class since the Nepal trip.

Our leader, Yuki Kato, came over to the class in a wheelchair and talked about social responsibility and the significance of the event coming on the 12th of November.

日本とアジア地域における国際学生交流について

Yuki was sick and has been hospitalized for a couple of weeks. Nevertheless, he was in front of us with a temporary discharge permit to tell the rest of the members in person what we have to do right now for the event and how we could make it more meaningful, attractive and impressive. Actually, his presence at the class was the perfect illustration of what we have to do, “To actively do something in person”

This event is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the JICA Chikyuu Hiroba. Japan hopes that we, the youth, focus on Southeast Asia and South Asia since student exchange among Asian countries is going to be an important component of the future of Asia. For that purpose, it will make sustained and increased efforts to facilitate exchanges of young students, considering that they carry the future of Japan. These things are almost same as what we are doing so they are going to connect it to the social significance and responsibility.

We have one more event on the 26th of October at E204 class during lunch break. In this event, we are going to present what we experienced and learned in Nepal through Mero Sathi Project. We would like you to join it.

Finally, for the event on November, we will be more active and hardworking like our leaders.

We will definitely seek to recruit as much audiences as possible to make it succeed.

ネパール研修報告（7）学校にて授業

日本とネパールの学生が共に約1時間程の授業を考え子供たちと先生として交流しました！

＜ネパール研修8日目＞

ネパールと関ゼミの学生混合で、5つのグループに分かれてリンネラハ村の学校で1時間授業を行いました。与えられた授業課題は、何か「子供たちのためになるようなこと。」グループごとに話し合い自分たちで授業内容を決めました。およそ10歳～12歳までのクラスを担当し、衛生（手の洗い方）、日本の基本情報（国旗、地図上の位置など）、舞踊、食事、ジェンダーなどたくさんのことについて教えました。生徒たちはとても積極的な態度で質問をしてくれ、私たちももっと教えてあげたいという気持ちになりました。その後、ネパールや日本についてのクイズ大会、参加メンバー各国（ネパール、日本、中国、マレーシア、ベトナム）のダンスを披露しました。リンネラハ村の生徒たちも民族舞踊を披露してくれて大いに盛り上がりました。

<Eighth day of the study tour in Nepal>
This day, we did a one-hour class at a school in Rinhera Village. We were divided into five groups (mixed teams of the Nepalese participants and Seki Seminar students). Prof. Seki told us to teach “something which will promote the growth of the students.” Each group discussed a lot and decided the procedure of the class. The students were about 10~12 years old. We taught them different topics such as, how to wash hand properly, gender issues, basic information about Japan, dance, food, etc. The students joined us actively and asked many questions.
After the classes, we did a quiz competiton about Nepal and Japan. Also, we performed our cultural dance (Nepalese, Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian, and Vietnamese dances). The school students also performed their ethnic dance, and everyone enjoyed it! It was such an amazing experience for everyone.

研修7日目、マイダン村での二日間を終えた私達は、約5時間に及ぶ山道の移動を経て、リンネラハ村に到着しました。村に到着するや否や、村に住む人々は非常に珍しそうな目で私達を見ていました。それを見て少し緊張しながらもナマステと挨拶をすると快く挨拶してくれ、更には子供達が遊びに誘ってくれ、村の案内までしてくれました。この村は売店があったり、家が３階建てになっていたりとマイダン村に比べて発展している様子でした。そして英語教育に関しても発展していました。ホームステイ先の3歳の子供がすでに英語を勉強している姿を見て、日本よりも教育面で随分と発展が進んでいるなと思い、刺激を受けました。この村で新たな経験を積むことに胸を膨らませました。


Day 5th, after the two days in Maidan village we hiked down for approximately 4 hours and arrived at Rinhera village. Since foreigners are very rare for them, they seemed like they were nervous a bit. However, once we said Hi to them, they immediately made smile and said Namaste to us. What I like the most about this village is that they are friendly. Although it was our first time meeting, as soon as we arrived our homestay house, the kids there took us out to the temple, playground, etc. and talked a lot. They were small shops and big houses, too. The village obviously far more developed than Maidan. Talking about English, English education in this village is much more developed than Japan. I was extremely surprised and impressed by the fact that even three years old kid in my homestay was studying English.

後期授業報告（２） 報告会に向け本格始動！

後期2回目の授業です。
前期は研修に向けて異文化学習について理解を深めてきましたが、これからはそれらを少しずつ外に発信することになります。10月には学内での海外ゼミ研修報告会、11月12日にはJICA地球広場で行われる外務省後援のイベントの企画・運営を担当し、ネパール研修についてのプレゼンを行います。それらに向け、各イベントの趣旨やそれに向けた準備の方法を議論しました。4月から私達の活動が始まり早くも半年を終えようとしています。今後は報告会やイベントの成功を目指し、全員で協力し、頑張っていきます。

This was the second class since the Nepal trip. During the first semester we focused mainly on cross-cultural studies.Based on what we learnt and saw in Nepal,we will use our second semester to plan and hold seminars to share our experience.There will be one seminar held on 26th of October and the second one on 12th of November at JICA Global Square.We will use our time mainly at discussing the programs of these two events  hoping to give our audiences the best we could.
